We’re just about one week and two days into 2012, but I really don’t want to say or think about that too much because as soon you think “Oh, it’s still pretty early into the year…” you’re going to find yourself right smack in the middle of June.

Well, anyway, tonight marks the end of my winter break. Which stinks on a number of levels, since for me I felt like I only had a week-and-a-half worth of break. Not three weeks. And those who are on a semester system have been rubbing it in my face that they don’t have to go back until the end of January.

I have some mixed feelings about starting my new courses tomorrow…

I don’t want to start up on school so soon. I’m really not ready yet. It would be fine if I knew that I had courses in which I didn’t know anyone in any of the four classes I’m enrolled in. But truthfully, the only thing that I want to do is fly under the radar. That’s pretty difficult to do when I’m going to have to face a bunch of people that are going to want to make face-to-face contact with me.

I don’t want to explain myself to about Fall quarter and holiday break (which, FYI, did not go that great). I really hate my friends for unintentionally boasting at how well they did on their finals, and I feel that it’s not politically correct to just outright say to them, ”Well, that’s really great for you, but how is that helping me?” Really, way to boost my confidence.

When the only reason why I am glad about starting school again is to get back onto my regular cycling schedule of 16 miles (four-mile distance between my house and campus; I averagely bike two round trips per day), I find it a pretty weak reason to go at all. Though there’s hardly a choice in the matter if I am to get through this academic year with a degree or two in hand (one associates in Liberal Arts, one in Child Development, and one in Music if I’m truly lucky), since attendance is mandatory and getting into classes are competitive. No way am I going to sabotage my spot from being dropped.

Despite above everything, the year 2012 has given me hope that things will turn out for the better. The previous year was one pitfall after another. I’m really tired of being negative about it. I’m ready for a change. For this year, I want to rise above 2011’s affairs. So ready or not…

And it comes in three sections:

1. I don’t want my Tumblr to be Reblog-Only.

I like to keep a balance of the type of posts I make, between my own personal writings, pictures, videos, music… you name it. I reblog posts that I find amusing or I am connected to, and feel the need to share it on my behalf. So I will only post a few things at a time. Seeing thousands of the same kind of posts each month from one person is really overwhelming, wouldn’t you agree?

2. I don’t want my Like list to be cluttered. 

Let’s face it. It’s not easy to scroll through your favorite posts. I’ve decided that every time I reblog something, I will remove it from my Like list. With artwork I am able to view on DeviantArt, I will add it to my Favorite list there instead of liking it on Tumblr. This will make viewing my Likes a little more organized. 

3. I don’t want an uneven amount of posts for each months.

I find it unappealing to the eye if I were to post, say, 5 times the amount I did from the previous month. So then it would look like this: December (40 posts), January (2 posts), February (18 posts). You get the picture.

And so…

With all of this taken into consideration, I have selected posts from my like list and set them in my queue box, which are set to post the first of each week. This is so I am able to share my favorite posts without having to worry about going overboard, clean up my Like list as I go along, and focus on my writing for the rest of the time.

It’s finally 2012!
